cross country skiing

There is a lit ski touring track near the hotel as well as a track for longer trips in the same path as the Flyktingloppet, Refugee ski race, which runs at the end of March or early April each year. The track is also usually open for skiing most of the winter. If you take the car a few miles to Brattli, there is a nice ski track there too, which takes you right by the mountain.
If you want to make your own tracks, in untouched terrain, there are many completely unspoilt areas to explore. Here you can aslo go skiing in the wilderness without any motor noise.

Snow shoes

Snow shoes work well for a shorter trip in the woods or in areas that are hard to reach. In some cases you can ride a snow mobile on a path and then strap on the snow shoes to discover further into the terrain.

Ice fishing and mountain lake fishing

Right outside Pilgrimshotellet there is a beautiful arctic char lake, ideal for fishing. There is also a vast amount of surrounding fishing waters to discover for the keen fishermen & women.
There is a combined fishing-license to purchase that covers a very large part of Frostviken and its 110 fishing lakes! This licence, the Frostviken Card, is the result of a collaboration between seven local fish conservation areas and some fishing areas within SCA. From Lidsjöberg to the south to Leipikvattnet in the north.
Each area is presented in detail in a brochure, with fishing tips, maps and information about services, accommodation, boat rentals, and guided tours. Add a fishing week/long weekend to delve deeper into the fantastic fishing opportunities Frostviken offers. Both summer and winter.

Alpine skiing

If you are looking for downhill skiing, there are very nice slopes at Blåsjöns Fjällanläggning, which is 45 kms from us, and ideal for day trips. This mountain has Sweden's fourth highest fall height, with a choice between many pistes and also off-piste areas. The prepared slopes are wide and green, blue or red. They are therefore very well suited for families with children. This area is also a true eldorado for free-riders. There is a ski and equipment rental facility on site.
